Day - 30(21/1/26)

During the 30th day of my teaching practice, on 21 January 2025 (6/31), we reached the school before 9:30 AM. As Padansavam was being celebrated in the school, there were no regular classes on that day, and students were actively engaged in preparations and performances. The entire school atmosphere was lively and creative, with students participating enthusiastically in various activities. We assisted teachers and students in making charts and arranging other essential materials for the Padansavam. The morning session included prize distribution and a demonstration of Abacus learning, along with the distribution of prizes to students who excelled in different fields. This was followed by the showcasing of students’ talents through dances, skits, songs, poem recitations, and storytelling sessions presented by the LP, UP, and High School sections. Many performances were lesson-based skits, reflecting how well students had understood the concepts taught during the academic year. An exhibition was also conducted using charts and models prepared by students to represent the concepts they had learned. Alongside these activities, practice sessions for the upcoming annual day were carried out, and we actively helped students during rehearsals. The day concluded at 3:30 PM, and the experience helped me understand the importance of co-curricular activities in holistic development and the collaborative role of teachers in organizing and supporting such school.

Day - 31(22/1/26)

The 31st day marked the final day of the second phase of our teaching practice, and it coincided with the Annual Day celebration of the school, making it a memorable and meaningful experience. The school campus was vibrant and beautifully decorated, reflecting the festive spirit of the occasion. The Annual Day program began at 10:00 AM, and the morning session was filled with a variety of cultural performances presented by students from different classes. These performances included classical and folk dances, group songs, action songs, and cultural items representing different traditions and regions, highlighting the cultural diversity of the school. Each performance reflected the students’ dedication and the effort they had put in during the days of practice. The program also included inspiring speeches by the chief guest and other dignitaries, who appreciated the students’ talents and encouraged them to pursue excellence in both academics and extracurricular activities. After a short break, the program continued from 2:00 PM onwards, with students confidently presenting the items they had practiced in the previous days. The coordination among teachers, students, and volunteers was commendable, and the event progressed smoothly throughout the day. The celebration extended until 9:30 PM, making it a long yet fulfilling day. Being part of the Annual Day helped me understand the importance of such programs in nurturing students’ creativity, confidence, teamwork, and overall personality development, and it also gave me valuable exposure to the organizational and supportive role of teachers during large school events.
