TEACHING PRACTICE PHASE 2 First Week ( 5/11/25 - 7/11/25)

Second Phase - Day 1 (5/11/25)

Today marked the beginning of my second phase of teaching practice. We were assigned to the same school as in our first phase — Mar Thoma High School, Arumurikkada. A total of twelve student-teachers joined for this phase. From my department, Mathematics, Akhila and I represented our subject. The Physical Science department was represented by Simi Saji and Noel M Shibu; the English department by Arunima Rachel, Fathima S., and Akhil Robin; the Malayalam department by Jincy Mathai, Anupama A, and Lekshmi. Additionally, two student-teachers from another school, Riya Geevarghese and Vismaya Mary from the Natural Science department, also joined us. I reached the school at 9:15 am. and signed in. The morning assembly  prayer were conducted by B.Ed trainees which set a pleasant and disciplined start to the day.

I handled 9 B during the 3rd and 4th periods. The 3rd period was from 11:00 a.m. to 11:40 a.m., and the 4th period was from 11:40 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. During these periods, I introduced a new chapter – Circle Measures. I began by linking the concept to real-life examples and visual aids to help students grasp the basic idea easily. The students were attentive and actively participated throughout the lesson.

After the class sessions, I also took part in serving lunch to the students, which gave me an opportunity to interact with them informally and build a better rapport.
The day ended at 3:30 p.m. Overall, it was a successful and satisfying start to my second phase of teaching practice.

Day 2 ( 6/11/25)

Today was the second day of my second phase teaching practice. I reached the school at 9.15 a.m. and signed the attendance register. As the midterm examinations were going on, there were no regular classes today. During the 3rd period, I had exam duty, which I performed sincerely by maintaining discipline and assisting in the smooth conduct of the exam. During the lunch break, I helped in serving food to the students. The day went smoothly, and I left the school at 3.45 p.m. Even though I didn’t get a chance to take regular classes, it was a valuable experience to take part in the exam duties and other school responsibilities.

Day 3 ( 7/11/25)

I reached the school at 9.15 a.m. and signed the attendance register. The morning assembly was conducted as usual. During the third period, from 11.00 a.m. to 11.40 a.m., I took class for 9 B on the topic “Diameter and Perimeter.” Students actively participated in solving related problems and showed good understanding.

After the class, I helped students prepare for the Sub District School Kalolsavam group song. I guided them in improving rhythm, pronunciation, and coordination. The students were very enthusiastic and cooperative during the practice session.

It was a meaningful and engaging day that balanced academic learning and cultural preparation. I left the school at 3.45 p.m.
