3rd Week - Teaching Practice ( 28/7/25 - 1/8/25)

A Week of Growth, Service, and Meaningful Learning

This week of internship was a remarkable journey filled with purposeful activities, classroom experiences, and creative engagement. Each day offered valuable opportunities to learn, contribute, and reflect as part of the teaching community. From lesson delivery to co-curricular preparations, every moment strengthened my sense of responsibility as a teacher trainee.

28/7/25 – A Day of Service and Learning

The day began with signing the attendance register, followed by participation in kitchen duties and providing academic support to students with learning difficulties. Since the afternoon session was reserved for the mid-term examination, I was assigned invigilation duty in an Upper Primary class — a new and insightful experience. As part of the preparations for the Hiroshima Day Rally, we began making Sadako cranes to promote the message of peace. We also conducted a Science Day Quiz for the high school students. It was a day that beautifully combined learning, teamwork, and service.

29/7/25 – Continuing with Purposeful Tasks

The morning hours were spent on kitchen duties and helping students with learning challenges. There were no regular classes due to the mid-term examination in the afternoon. We continued making Sadako cranes for the Hiroshima Day Rally, reflecting on their significance as symbols of peace and hope. The day was peaceful and purposeful.

30/7/25 – Active Teaching and Rally Preparation

After signing the attendance register, I took class 8 C. The students were attentive, enthusiastic, and participated actively, making the session engaging. Later in the day, we continued preparations for the Hiroshima Day Rally by creating posters and folding paper cranes. I also took part in noon meal duties, ensuring everything ran smoothly. It was a productive day filled with learning and teamwork.

31/7/25 – Optional Observation and Positive Feedback

The day was important as I had my optional observation from college. I took  during the sixth period. The students responded well and showed active involvement, which made the class lively. My supervising teacher provided encouraging feedback and constructive suggestions for improvement. Afterward, we continued with the rally preparations. The day ended with a sense of satisfaction and motivation.

1/8/25 – Productive Classroom Sessions and Preparation Work

The final day of the week started with routine attendance marking and kitchen duties. I took two classes in 8 C — during the 3rd period and 7th period. Both sessions were interactive, and the students showed great interest and understanding. The afternoon was spent preparing for the Hiroshima Day Rally, finalizing cranes and posters. It was a well-balanced day of teaching and creative engagement.

Reflection

This week was a blend of academics, creativity, and service. Each activity — whether teaching, invigilating, or preparing for the peace rally — contributed to my personal and professional growth. The constant guidance from mentors, along with the students’ cooperation, made every task meaningful. The experiences of this week have enhanced my confidence, patience, and passion for teaching. I look forward to carrying this spirit of dedication and positivity into the upcoming weeks of my internship journey.
