LEARNING THROUGH OBSERVATION: OUR CRITICISM DEMONSTRATION CLASSES📚(03 April 2025)

As part of our B.Ed curriculum, we entered a new phase in the second semester—criticism classes—transitioning from the activity-oriented lessons of the first semester to model-based teaching. These classes officially began on 3rd April 2025, during which seven of our classmates were assigned to present lessons based on various instructional models including me.

To help us prepare, our seniors conducted demonstration classes. We had the opportunity to attend two insightful sessions—one based on the Inquiry Training Model (ITM) and the other on the Constructivist Model. These classes were led by Devika Murali and Lijin Babu, and though the allotted time was from 10:00 AM to 1:15 PM, the sessions concluded by 11:30 AM, as only two were scheduled. Both presenters meticulously followed the steps of their respective models, making the concepts easy to grasp. The sessions were not only engaging and informative, but also created a classroom-like atmosphere where we truly felt like their students.

Additionally, they offered practical tips on classroom management and shared ideas on how to make our lessons more interactive and impactful.
