From Monuments to Mountains: A Journey to Remember!

Exploring Heritage and Hills: A College Trip to Agra, Delhi & Himachal

As part of the B.Ed. curriculum, a study tour was conducted during the second semester from 12 March to 20 March, covering several historically and culturally significant destinations:Agra, Delhi, Kullu, and Manali. The tour group comprised 69 students and 4 faculty members. This journey was designed to provide a valuable blend of educational experience and personal growth through firsthand exposure to important sites.

DAY 1

Our adventure began early as we arrived at Agra Cantt railway station around 10:30 AM, welcomed by the vibrant station and warm spring air. After settling into our hotel and freshening up, we gathered for a briefing on the day’s schedule.

The original plan was to head straight to Agra Fort, but with the intense afternoon heat, we made a slight change. We started instead at Meena Bazaar, a colorful market full of local handicrafts, textiles, marble souvenirs, and jewelry. It was a lively stop, giving us a glimpse of Agra's cultural heartbeat.

Afterward, we made our way to Agra Fort, arriving at 3:00 PM. This UNESCO World Heritage site, with its striking red sandstone walls and Mughal architecture, left us in awe. We explored iconic spots like the Diwan-i-Am, Diwan-i-Khas, and Jahangir’s Palace, all while learning more about their historical and architectural significance. Though the afternoon sun made the walk tough, frequent breaks kept us hydrated and energized. The visit offered a deep dive into the Mughal era, leaving us with a greater appreciation for India’s royal history.

As evening approached, we returned to the comfort of our hotel, where a warm and inviting North Indian dinner was served. The meal featured soft rotis, a richly spiced vegetable curry, hearty dal, fluffy steamed rice, and a sweet serving of gulab jamun that delighted everyone.

The dinner was a perfect opportunity to unwind and connect, as we shared stories, laughed over the day’s highlights, and bonded over the shared experience. With hearts and stomachs full, we settled in for the night, looking forward to the next day’s adventures. The day had been more than just a historical tour—it was a lesson in flexibility, teamwork, and the joy of discovery.
