VALENTINE'S DAY CELEBRATION : PREMAM

Following Valentine’s Day on February 14, our college brought the spirit of the occasion to life with a special celebration titled Premam, held on February 21, 2025. Since the actual day was packed with academic schedules, the college union thoughtfully postponed the event to the following Friday afternoon, making space for everyone to participate and enjoy.

The General Hall was transformed into a vibrant, love-themed venue, beautifully adorned with balloons, heart-shaped decorations, and soft, ambient lighting. The atmosphere was warm, cheerful, and full of anticipation.

The event kicked off at 2 PM with a cheerful welcome from the college union members, whose energy and enthusiasm immediately set the mood for a delightful afternoon. One of the most exciting parts of the program was the series of movie scene recreations by various departments, all centered on themes of love. The performances were not only visually striking but also emotionally resonant, capturing the audience’s attention with their creativity and sincerity.

In between the dramatics, the stage was lit up by solo performances—songs, poetry, and heartfelt expressions of emotion. These individual acts added an intimate and personal layer to the celebration, drawing cheers and applause from an enthusiastic crowd.

As the program neared its end, a short documentary film exploring love and relationships was screened. It offered a thoughtful perspective on the many dimensions of love—romantic, platonic, familial—and left everyone with something to reflect on. The event also featured interactive elements like a letterbox for anonymous messages (though time didn’t allow for reading them aloud) and a sticky note board where students could post their Valentine’s thoughts and wishes. These little touches added to the charm and engagement of the celebration.

We were especially grateful for the support of our teachers and the principal, who not only attended but actively encouraged us throughout. Their presence and appreciation meant a lot and added to the spirit of the occasion.

Premam was more than a Valentine’s event—it was a celebration of connection, friendship, and heartfelt expression. It reminded us of the beauty of all forms of love, leaving behind warm memories and smiles that lingered long after the day ended.
